MPC contributed its civil engineering expertise towards constructing the Putrajaya Wetlands located at the new Government Administrative Capital City of Malaysia. The first man made wetlands in the country is believed to be the largest of its kind in the world.
The project posed to be a major challenge due to its size, and the need to equilibrate the engineering element of urban development and environmental management whilst aiming to preserve ecological diversity. In total, 22 earth filled embankment weirs with rip-rap face protection and 3 concrete weirs with viewing platforms were completed.
